Este año Denis y su grupo estuvieron encargados de renovaciones en 3 canchas de golf. De nuevo!, han echo un trabajo espectacular!
Con mucha alegría, màs que nada para Denis, se puedo traer el grupo de Mejico que son muy buenos trabajadores y le hacen la vida màs fácil a èl!
En general, en las tres canchas se arreglaron bunkers, greens y tees; tambièn, los clubes aprovecharon la ocasión que las canchas están cerradas e hicieron sus propios arreglos por esa razón alguno de los fairways se ven amarillos.
El club, a veces y por adelantado, quema el pasto en las areas que se va a trabajar; otras veces, se saca y tira el pasto verde.
This year Denis and his crew had to renovate some holes in 3 different golf courses. Again, they are making a wonderful job!
We are, specially Denis, very glad that the company was able to bring the crew from Mexico, as they are great workers!, they make Denis’ life way easier!
In general, all 3 golf courses needed some renovations to their tees, greens and bunkers. Also, the clubs, normally, take advantage of the shutting of the course and they do their own repairs, that is way some fairways look so yellow.
Occasionally and ahead of the job, the club will killed the grass; other times the grass is removed and disposed green.
Hokulia club Kukio Golf Course
Greens: se sacò arena vieja, acomodò algún nivel a una altura nueva o simplemente dejado como estaba. En Kukio solamente se “flotò” con una plancha de alambre tipo tejido y se plantò pasto nuevo.
Greens: removal of old sand, shaping to new levels or leaving it as it was. In Kukio they were just floated with a steel mesh to re leveled and planted with new grass.
Bunkers: se saco pasto de alrededor, se vaciaron, se re hicieron a las nuevas medidas, arreglaron o agregaron drenajes. Las marcas de colores es como van decidiendo dònde va el corte; en general el arquitecto no està presente toda la temporada con lo cual van decidiendo con fotos y/o videos. Luego se instala tela o un cemento poroso especial para el drenaje de agua. Y ya los llenan con arena e instalan pasto en paneles todo alrededor, y pasto de raíz (sprigs) todo el resto de la superficie. Tela se instalò en Kukio; cemento en Hokulia.
Bunkers: surrounding’s grass, sand and old drainage are removed. Then, they are re shaped to the new levels and cut to new lines. They paint colored lines to decide with the architect that is not on site, they send photos and videos to each other until they are happy with the line they want to cut. Once this is done, they install of drainage, liner and/or capillary concrete; sand and grass as they go finishing. Normally they plant sod around the bunker and greens, and sprigs to the rest. Kukio has liner installed, Hokulia concrete.
Tees: con un motocultor se mezcla el pasto con matado con la arena, en varias ocaciones esto se descarta y se agrega una capa finita de arena antes de plantar. Se re nivela a nuevas medidas si es necesario.
Tees: mixing with a rototiller the killed grass; re shaped, and planted new grass. Some times, the rototilled stuff is removed.
