Barrio nuevo para nuestra estadìa en Hawaii!
Està bueno para conocer otra secciòn de este lado de la isla pero es “mucho pueblo”, mucha gente, autos y ruido. No sè por què hablo asì porque desde la casa casi ni me entero que estoy dónde estamos… ja! Ja! Ja!
Pero en las salidas en bici medio complicado… hay mucha gente caminando, corriendo, algunos ciclistas, los menos; asì que uno anda esquivando bultos y super concentrado para que no te pase un auto por arriba tratando de esquivar al peatonal; o no llevarte al peatonal puesto por no tragarte el auto… ja ja ja
Lo peor es que corren y camina en contra mano… y se mueven, se corren para darte paso con pocas ganas y mucha mala sangre… Pretenden que el ciclista se mueva sobre la calle, se salga del sendero para darle paso a ellos, en contra mano… Terribles…
Còmo digo yo, la casa està a “un escalón màs arriba” a nivel del mar! Un poquito de elevación!, que ni se nota.. pero entonces, “bajo” a la calle contra el mar, donde la comparto con todos esos elementos…!; usando una cortada de tierra en un valdio casa por medio de la nuestra! O subo “un escalón màs”, a la calle que nos trae a este barrio cerrado; esta la comparto con autos… No happy Jean!! Que casi ni hay banquina… mi primer día de usarlo…, bien de susto… pero se puede!
Ademàs, ahora encontre una tercer opción!!! Otra calle màs principal, arteria de salida del pueblo para dar la vuelta a la isla, que tiene muy buena banquina y ancha! Y después unos metros en “opción 2” que me trae a casa!, creo me va a gustar màs este recorrido!! Tengo que ir a explorar màs!
Hasta ahora, una vez sali para arriba y hacia la derecha hacia la playa volviendo por la cortada! Otro día salì por la cortada al mar, hacia la derecha hasta el aeropuerto viejo y volvì por la ruta/arteria con buena banquina!! Y hoy baje por la cortada y salì hacia la izquierda, fui y volvì por la calle contra el mar de multi uso!!! Ja ja ja No me gusto pero ya me voy a acostumbrar!

Kailua-Kona our new “home” while ing Big Island!! It should be nice as we haven’t been on this side of town. There are more people, more cars, more noice…, though we are far away, in a gated area a bit up and away from the busy town and main road; close enough to walk to it if wanted.
My first experience riding the bike was not quite what I wanted; I knew it was going to be busy but no this busy…
Went up to the main road that brings us to this gated community (just houses) and turned left to a point where I will meet the main road along the ocean. “my road” (the upper one) does not have a bike path, nor a good shoulder… in sections it’s just a little room for the tire… so it was quite nerve breaking/scary experience; traffic was in “morning rush mood” on my side, the other side were running at turtle space… (next time I’ll go on the other way!)
As I ride south less cars but, still, they go fast… I get to the intersection I’ll be turning down and back on the road against the ocean… another busy street but with pedestrians!… wow! Everyone is out there running, walking, cycling or… strolling… also, the surfers that had parked the roads right to the white line… Not sure which road was worth…! But!, a nice well marked bike/pedestrian path!
I have a short cut right next door to our house!!, a dirt path on an empty piece of land! I will be taking this one for most of my runs!
Another day, taking the short cut went down hill, at the ocean road I turned right towards town and all the way to the old airport; and back home on a main “hwy” that takes you all around the island! This one is nice, wide!, clean, well marked and with a very wide shoulder!! So I might use this hwy as my main road for my rides! From there I only have to ride on our small road for a few meter or just a kilometer to get to home.
Today, I go down on the short cut and take to the left… sharing the path with everyone else…, not funny…! One have to pay good attention to everything…, people running towards you, with you; walkers, people coming in and out of parked cars…To busy… Went and came back on the same road… Is no bad but complicated!! Ha! Ha! Ha!
I will keep exploring! The huge mountain behind us is calling me!!
