Con la necesidad de pedalear cerros, es medio chata esta zona…!, me fui a la calle de la cancha de golf donde están trabajando, hasta donde esa calle no va màs! Una linda cuesta arriba con unas vistas alucinantes!
A la vuelta pare a mirar la bahía calma y una flor de tormenta en el horizonte! Un buen rato màs tarde llegaran los chaparrones que jorobaron un poco el día de trabajo…
Needing to feel that felling that comes with heavy pedaling up hill!, burning legs!, sweaty!, puffing for air!!, I went up the street where the golf course Denis is working at is. All the way to the end, all the way up there!! Amazing views down the bay!
On the way back I stopped at Pearl Harbor bay to look at an approaching storm!, impressive site seen! Later in the morning it will rain to the point that our team had to stop working.
Sand Island
Un dìa bien nublado, por suerte lo peor de la lluvia se mantiene allà a lo lejos, igual alguna gota me agarra, en el valle de casa seguro!
Hoy habían dos hombres “pescando” algo en la arena, almejas sabia que no porque no creo hay en estas playas…, bah, no se. Me acerqué al señor mayor que ya parecía se iba y le preguntè que pescaban, “Cangrejo” dijo el hombre! Hay unos cangrejitos color arena bastante chiquititos, nunca pensé los juntarían…
Sand Island again! On a very cloudy day I managed to leave home before rain drops started falling, thou, for sure, on the way back I’ll get wet!
There were 2 men catching something in the sand, I couldn’t help it to ask what! The old man told me they were catching crabs! Crabs?! I’ve seen the little, sand colored crabs but would’ve never thought they will get caught…. What for?…
Volviò Tito de visita! Èsta vez se quedò màs dìas! Aprovechamos un montón a pasear! También le hicimos programas con varones asì no siempre estaba conmigo sola. Invitè a los chicos a cenar en casa; el sábado a la nochecita ellos lo llevaron a pasear por Waikiki; y el lunes después del trabajo, lo alcance a donde viven para que jugara un picadito en el parque del barrio!
Aprovechando el fin de semana!, fuimos un ratito a Sand Island a que se metiera en el mar, nosotros dos no, dia horrible, frio y viento… También lo llevamos a que conociera la costa del norte! Paramos en Haleiwa a ver los negocios turísticos, como le gusta hacer shopping… y a mi que me gusta tan poco ir y venir; entrar, mirar, salir y seguir dando vueltas alrededor de negocios… Pero bue, a las visitas hay que darle los gustos!! Denis se sentò en un banco y nos esperò! Ja! Ja!
Despuès fuimos a la playa pero ya llegando vimos las banderas rojas y el salva vidas que nos dice: “si se van a bañar no entren màs de 3 metros porque las olas vienen grandes y hay mucha correntada”… ahì no màs los tres dijimos: “yo no me meto”!! Ja! Ja! Ja! Nos quedamos un rato mirando a los surfistas, comimos nuestro picnic y nos volvimos a siestar en casa!!
El lunes sì!, mientras los hombres trabajaban!, nosotros dos nos fuimos de joda al centro! Primero a dar una vuelta por los negocios en el mall de Ala Moana y después de almorzar, un rato a la playa de Waikiki!! Esta vez hasta yo me bañè!
La playa principal, que no hay dònde estacionar,… era un mundo de gente, sombrillas y demás!, al mejor estilo Mar del Plata! Nos fuimos unos metros màs al sur que hay estacionamiento en la calle pegada a la playa, Tito se barrenò todo! Un placer verlo disfrutar tanto del agua!!
Desde que llego el jueves que decía que, en este viaje, quería ir a hacer una caminata!, esto sì me gusta a mi!! Lo dejamos para el martes a la mañana antes de tomar su vuelo de vuelta; elegí una caminata corta con un destino al final, vieron que a los jovenes mucho esto de caminar nos le va…!, quería asegurarme que tres metros en el paseo no se quisiera volver!…
Visitamos una catarata finita, alta y hermosa! Todo el trayectorio una vegetación hermosa!, arboles grandes, otros altos, algo de flores y montón de pajaritos cantando!
A pesar de que éramos muchos en el sendero… el paseo estuvo muy lindo!
Tito se despidió preguntando cuàndo podia ir a visitarnos en la Isla Grande! Ja! Ja! Ja!
Tito visited us again! This time he come from Thursday night until Tuesday earlier afternoon!
We all had a great time! While Denis was at work I took Tito to do city things, mainly shopping… not my cup of tea… but he is the visitor so…!
One night we had our friends over for dinner! Then, with Denis we went to a couple of different beaches over the weekend but weather was no to kind, the oldies didn’t swim, Tito did in Sand Island. When we went to the beach in north shore, it was so windy, rough seas, as we were walking to the beach the safeguard said: If you are planing to get in the water, don’t adventure more than 10 feet/3 m because the sea is not good today”… Red flags were battering the winds like crazy! Sat in the shade for a little while, eat our picnic and went back home for a nice siesta!
Before going to the beach that day, we stopped at Haleiwa for Tito to check out the little shops… Denis sat at a bench patiently waiting, as we were coming and going into most of them… Man!, no my cup off tea!! Ha! Ha! Ha!
But! On Monday while the men were at work, Tito and I went to the mall first, window watching…, lunch and then!, for a nice swim at Waikiki beach!, the less people cluttered! Everyone was enjoying the waves under a sunny day!!
Trying to get Tito to do other things, on Saturday the boys, our friends, took him shopping to Ala Moana and Waikiki! As a men thing!! And, on Monday after work, I drop Tito at the golf course to go with them for a “picadito” as we call it in Argentina when they gather to just kick the football!
To finish his visit, he wanted to do a hike! Now! this is my cup of tea!!! Ha! Ha! I chose a short, easy hike to a water fall. It was amazing!, so green, tall gorgeous trees!, a thin line of water falling down a pretty wall! Even we heard first and then saw a Cockatoo! Apparently the tourist center at the entrance used to have a cage with birds, a storm came by and let them free!! It was so estranged to heard them “out of their country”!!
Tito had a great time and kept asking when could he visit us next in Big Island!! Ha! Ha!
Un dìa de arco ires para otro paseo de despedida!
Me fui hacia la usina con idea de solo hacer ese recorrido pero, a la vuelta, con tanto arco ires tuve que parar en la bahía de Pearl Harbor! Què mañana alucinante de cambios de luz, nubes, arco ires por acà y por allà! Una belleza!
Por suerte Denis me dejò la camioneta porque, en casa, diluviaba! Me fui hasta un estacionamiento cerca de la ruta principal H1 y arranquè el paseo desde ahì. La foto de las nubes es mirando hacia casa, casi ni se ven las montañas!
“A rainbows' day” I named this ride on my app, one of my last rides of the season in Oahu.
The weather was not and have not been nice at all on the last few weeks… way to windy, lots of showers, cold. Our valley is alway “under cover”!! Ha! Ha! Luckily I had Denis’ ute/truck as I needed to do some shopping. So, drove down to a parking close to H1 and started the ride from there towards the power station. Clouds and rainbows were crazily gorgeous! The picture of the rainy clouds is looking towards home, you can hardy see the mountains…
On my way back I had to stopped at the boat ramp in Pearl Harbor because the light, the rainbows were calling for pictures!!
Malcriando un poco a los chicos, les dejo un fresquito de dulce de leche casero a cada uno!
Spoiling our friends before leaving I made them dulce de leche, a named jar for each one! And one for us because it was delicious!!
Y asì nos vamos!!
